MEET SHANNON
As a storyteller, I believe collaboration is key to making moving imagery. I want you to see your life with curiosity, not critique. I am a Minneapolis based hybrid creator and content partner, telling stories from your kitchen to the boardroom through photography and videography.
I have had the privilege of documenting once-in-a-lifetime moments, photographing bands and artists as they do what they love. I have chased the awe of place as well as small children around a backyard. I have developed imagery for brand campaigns and worked alongside research teams documenting “real life” in projects from power sport vehicles to the patient experience in a Cancer ward.
It can be frivolous, sometimes dirty and occasionally heartbreaking, but always full of curiosity, love and respect for this crazy life.
I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Let’s tell stories together.
VALUES DRIVEN PHOTOGRAPHY
OPENNESS, CURIOSITY, COLLABORATION, RESPECT
This is how I approach your story. I am there to document, not direct. I get curious about you, about your lives. I will work damn hard to make sure I tell your story with the love and care it deserves.
INTEGRITY, OPTIMISM, INTUITION, CREATIVITY
I ask you to trust me. I will likely get real close at times, tell my one stupid joke, lay on your floor or ask “is it okay for me to stand on this chair?” all in the pursuit of reflecting back the beauty I see in front of me.
LOYALTY
II fall a little bit in love when we make photos together. I fall in love with the way you connect with those you love, and the smile you make when you forget the camera is there. I fall in love with the skinned knees and the worn teddy bears. I fall in love with your dreams.
FORGIVENESS
This one is for me. This is for the moment when I miss the shot. The one that I saw, but just couldn't get to fast enough. I forgive myself so I can continue to get curious and honor your day.
Kind words
“Shannon is remarkably gifted. She captured the beauty and wonder we were feeling at a pivotal time. The tiny details that we were too close up to recognize as exquisite – she witnessed and preserved for us.
Years later, these photos can instantly transport me back to that magical, liminal time - and I cherish them all the more.”
